How do I apply for an Aged Care Assessment?
To apply for an Aged Care Assessment, the first step is to undergo an assessment to access government-funded aged care services. You can easily apply online using your Medicare card, or you can call My Aged Care at 1800 200 422. If you don’t have a Medicare card or prefer speaking with someone, the My Aged Care staff are available to assist you over the phone and will guide you through the application process. What doesn’t My Aged Care Home Care Packages pay for?
Home Care Packages do not pay for items that would usually be paid for with general income, like household bills and other basic living expenses. It also doesn’t cover care that is funded, or jointly funded, under other programs, like the dental, pharmaceutical, or medical systems (such as Medicare).
Can I get private care for elderly at home with Mission Community Care?
Yes, in addition to My Aged Care Home Care Packages, Mission Community Care also offers private care for elderly at home. This option allows for more flexibility and customisation of services, depending on individual needs and preferences, and does not require government funding.
